Cup of Joe

About me & What I do

At Cup of Joe Coffee Import we are committed to bring you excellent green Colombian coffee while building personal relations with the farmers and paying fair prices.

We only buy coffee from small and micro lots and specialize in fruity natural processed coffees, but we also offer excellent fully washed coffees, the style that made ’café de Colombia’ a world famous name.

After visiting Colombia many times since 2008 and visiting coffee farms for fun, I decided in 2022 to pursue my love and passion for coffee in a professional way and to start Cup of Joe Coffee Import. Please contact me if you are interested in green coffee samples or just would like to chat about coffee.

The coffees

We are all about green Colombian coffee and we offer several coffee varieties and processes. The main varieties are Tabi, Variedad Colombia, Cenicafé1, and Castillo. We offer fully washed coffee in the best Colombian tradition, and we specialize in natural processed coffee. We have ‘aerobic’ natural coffee, fermented up to 96 hours, and more experimental fermentations such as carbonic maceration, lactic fermentation, and alcoholic fermentation. We are open to new methods, so let us know if you have an idea. We also offer honey processed coffees of great quality.

All coffee grows in the Colombian Andes above 1500 meters in fertile volcanic soil, which provides a balanced cup with a pleasant acidity and the natural coffees can be very sweet and fruity. Think of strawberry, peach, watermelon, lemon, and much more.

The coffee farms

The majority of our coffees come from the Restrepo López family in Sevilla, Northern Valle del Cauca, Colombia. Just outside the town of Sevilla there are two family farms, right next to each other and recently restored respecting the architectural style of a 19th century coffee farm. The farms are located 1500 meters above sea level and they overlook the valley of the Cauca river in the west (Valle del Cauca).

Café Trillador
On these farms the Restrepo López family and their workers work hard every day to produce excellent coffee. Every coffee cherry is hand picked and every batch is processed by hand and closely monitored while it dries in the sun or on African drying beds in a covered structure so it can even dry while it rains.
